Everything has to be right with organic food supplements
Before our food supplements can be called organic, they have already undergone a number of checks under the strictest conditions. This is because the organic label is only awarded to products that comply 100% with EU organic regulations. The ingredients may only come from organic farming - the use of genetic engineering and synthetic chemical pesticides is not permitted. The EU Organic Regulation also prohibits the addition of isolated vitamins, minerals and trace elements. The EU organic seal - perhaps the strictest control in the world
If food supplements are organic in China, this does not mean that this also applies to European countries. Here, a food supplement is only organic if it has been awarded the EU organic label1 . And this is where the rules are the strictest in the world - also for animal welfare. The following are regulated, for example
- The number of animals per hectare is limited
- The husbandry methods must be species-appropriate
- The animals may only be fed organic feed
- The preventive administration of antibiotics is prohibited
Since 2010, there have also been EU standards for farmed organic fish from aquacultures - with criteria for species-appropriate husbandry, maximum husbandry densities and sustainable feed.
